Why join?

Experience life aboard a sailing yacht in the wild Croatia. Practice yoga and meditation every day on the boat or at the beach shaded by pine trees. Eat delicious wild vegan food, and enjoy sunshine. May is the ideal time to visit Croatian island before the summer crowd. The sun is already strong, but does not feel too hot as during the peak of the season. The wild bays are not crowded and as such are perfect to experience peace and tranquillity. And that is what wild sailing is all about. During our cruise you will be living aboard a 45-55 feet  sailing yacht, with a maximum of seven other participants, as well as a skipper and a chef. You will be exploring North Adriatic islands, visiting a different anchorage every night. You can find the approximate program by islands at the bottom of the page

Anchoring wild bays

Our route is designed to give you a combination of natural beauties and cultural heritage of the Adriatic Region. Generally we change 1 bay per day, which means 2-4 h sailing per day, if the weather allows it. We love sailing and we are looking forward to share that experience with you. Skipper Filip has been sailing professionally for the last 10 years and he will choose beautiful and safe bays where we will anchor.

Relax with yoga and find peace through whistling of the wind

There will be five morning  yoga classes with meditation, led by Filip who is assistant in Yoga in daily Life System and has been practising yoga for more than 20 years. Gentle sunshine, wonderful sailing, and beautiful scenery will make this holiday one you will never forget. The crew is also happy to teach you the basics of sailing and boat manoeuvring if you choose to participate actively.

Wild plant-based kitchen

During our cruise you will enjoy delicious organic vegan meals, prepared by Iva. The special thing about our menu will be food, prepared with wild plants gathered on the islands and wild plants and spices which Iva will bring from Slovenia. Why wild food in the first place?

Wild food is rarely found on our plates these days. Not so long ago, during times of war, wild plants saved our ancestors from starvation many times. Today we consider wild food prestigious and you can find it only in top notch restaurants.

Wild food is 3-4 times more nutritious than cultivated food and is available in abundance from early spring, only if we have the knowledge about it. It is the food that has been growing here for thousands of years and our organisms are adapted to it therefore it is also the most healthy food for us. If you will be interested you can also join Iva on gathering the wild plants on the islands.

What can you expect after Wild sailing Croatia?

FELL IN LOVE WITH SAILING

If you are coming to sailing for the first time and you love nature and freedom, you may fall in love. Sailing is really something special, because you get to know the power of nature, and what we like the most is that you are always just a step away from the sea, without crowded beaches.

RESET FROM YOUR DAILY LIFE

Complete relaxation. That we can promise you for the time being with us. With Filip’s rich experience, you will feel safe and with Iva cooking, you won’t even have to think about food. You can even decide to turn off your phone and opt for a digital detox, so you will be really reset when you return.

HEALTHY MIND AND BODY

With healthy vegan food, natural aromatherapy under the shelter of pine trees, vitamin sea and the practice of yoga, there is no other choice than a healthy mind in a healthy body. And all the pleasant connections that will be made with new friendships.

Meet Filip

Your skipper and yoga instructor

Filip Đurić has been sailing with his family since childhood. Over the years he visited numerous islands and bays, not only those which are popular, but also those the wild ones. Through those experiences he gained knowledge about the navigation, anchoring, mooring and all those little things necessary for safe life on a boat. In elementary school he started to train sailing in the yacht club “Galeb” and a few years after he joined the crew of the yacht club “Neverin”. In 2012, he started working as a sailboat skipper and in that way started to share his experiences and landscape discoveries with everyone on board. In 2017 he founded “Vegan Sailing”, the 1st all-inclusive sailing with vegan food prepared by professional chefs in Croatia. He is also a theoretical and practical instructor at a variety of sailing courses, from beginners and navigation courses to the skipper training. Therefore you can enjoy your vacation, knowing you are in the safe hands of an experienced skipper.

Filip is trying his best to live his everyday life according to Yogic principles, which are great providers of knowledge and awareness in shaping his moral and ethical views. During our cruise he can also lead some yoga and meditation practice upon guests request.

Meet Iva

Your cook, wild gatherer and co-pilot

In love with nature. She likes to pass the time discovering herself, foraging for wild plants and mushrooms, gardening and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. On board she will be your cook and expert for wild plants on the island. She is also a beginner sailor, she got her boat licence last year. By profession she is a pharmacist, who also finished School for self growth by Slovenian author and teacher Tadej Pretner and aromatherapist education held by Magnolija. She is a president of DIVJA association, where her wish is to bring nature and personal development closer to a wider group of people. Her passion is the organisation of creative and unforgettable events in connection with nature, where her main guiding principle is “Creating experiences”. And WILD sailing you are reading about is definitely one of them. Iva is driven by people’s reactions. Gratitude, connection and sincerity. Internal processes that take place within them. New bonds formed between participants and openness to exploring something new. She is currently living near Maribor, taking part in establishing an eco-community ENOST,  where their wish is to create a holistic center for retreat and organising events related to nature.
